”Major General Fox joined the Australian Defence Force Academy in 1988 and graduated from the Royal Military College in 1991 to the Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps. She was promoted to Major General and assumed the duties of Head, People Capability in November 2018," Minister Chester said.

"Along with Major General Fox's distinguished military career, she also holds a Bachelor of Arts, as well as Master's in Business Administration, Management in Defence Studies, and Politics and Policy.

"I congratulate Major General Fox and offer my thanks for her service to-date. I am confident she will do an outstanding job in this new role for the serving and ex-serving defence community."

Under the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004, two members of the commission must come from the Department of Defence or be permanent members of the Australian Defence Force.

Candidates are also nominated by the Minister for Defence.

Minister Chester also took the opportunity to thank outgoing commission member RADM Wolski for his term of nearly three years, and more than 30 years service in the Royal Australian Navy.

“Rear Admiral Wolski has had an exceptional military career, serving as the Commanding Officer of HMAS Tobruk and HMAS Stirling as well as a range of command and personnel-related appointments in Defence and Navy Headquarters," Minister Chester said.

"I would like to thank him for his long and dedicated service and wish him all the best for the future."
