Saab Australia receives ISMS accreditation

Saab Australia has announced that it has been awarded the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification, which will see further support of the company’s defence and security business, as well as “strong growth” into cyber services.

Saab Australia has announced that it has been awarded the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification, which will see further support of the company’s defence and security business, as well as “strong growth” into cyber services.

The certification is an information security standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which specifies the best practices and procedures that a company can "manage information security in a way that reduces overall risk."

The awarding of the certification means that ISO has formally recognised Saab Australia’s people, processes and technology as providing the "highest standard of information security available".

"The certification demonstrates that we can continue to be trusted with sensitive information and that the company is looking to continuously improve information security to its customers, suppliers and internal business units," a statement from Saab said.

To become certified, Saab had to be validated by independent audit firm DNV GL, a global quality assurance company.

Saab said it "demonstrated its ongoing and systematic approach to managing and protecting company and customer data" throughout the entire process.

“Receiving the ISO 27001 certification is testament to our commitment towards security and further reinforces Saab Australia as a trusted partner for customers and suppliers. Well done to all the people at Saab Australia who work tirelessly to ensure we can receive and maintain this high level of certification," said Andy Keough, managing director of Saab Australia.
