The defence and aerospace company has won a contract to deliver data management support services to NASA.
NASA has awarded the Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) Evolution and Development (EED)-3 contract to Raytheon, worth up to US$275 million ($352 million)
Under the five-year contract, Raytheon has been tasked with acquiring services for the continued improvement, reliability, availability, functionality, operability, and performance of hardware, software, and cloud-based systems within the EOSDIS.
These services are designed to support science data management for the Earth Science Data and Information System Project within the Earth Science Division of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate.
One of the primary objectives of the contract is the evolution and development engineering of several on-premises and commercial cloud-based systems.
The work is expected to be performed primarily at Raytheon’s facility in Riverdale, Maryland.
