Defence Connect is giving a greater voice to industry, and we want YOU to be part of it

I will be taking on the role of news editor within the Defence Connect team as we continue to deliver daily coverage of the developments shaping Australia’s defence sector.

We will continue to keep you up to date with the latest developments impacting the defence industry, the policymakers that shape it, Australian Defence Force personnel, research, AUKUS, geopolitics, sovereign manufacturing and the evolution of modern warfare.

In addition, director Phillip Tarrant and I will shortly be relaunching the new and improved Defence Connect Podcast with a comprehensive industry-focused advisory panel to give direct voice to industry across the nation.

Internationally, the conflict in Ukraine has shown industry and policymakers that defence platforms must be adaptable and updatable, not remaining stagnated for years at a time. Accordingly, our news content for the topic must also be adaptable in our analysis and events. That means listening to the industry we cover and adapting our content accordingly.

Which begs the question: What do you want to see more of from Defence Connect?

We want to hear from our readers, viewers and listeners about the stories that matter, the issues that deserve greater scrutiny and the voices that should be part of the conversation.

That means deeper analysis, greater coverage of small and medium-sized businesses and emerging companies, more industry perspectives, new podcast formats or simply better ways of explaining the complex issues facing the Australian defence industry environment.

With the release of the 2026 National Defence Strategy and 2026 Integrated Investment Program earlier this year, Australia’s defence industry is undergoing an extraordinary period of investment, growth and transformation. Defence Connect intends to evolve alongside it.

This is a new chapter for Defence Connect, and we want the industry to help shape what comes next.
