ASC appoints Risk Decisions to boost risk management

Australia’s leading naval shipbuilder and submarine organisation, ASC Pty Ltd, has appointed Risk Decisions as its new risk management partner.

Australia’s leading naval shipbuilder and submarine organisation, ASC Pty Ltd, has appointed Risk Decisions as its new risk management partner.

The Risk Decisions Asia-Pacific team will implement its enterprise Predict! platform to evolve ASC’s current risk management strategy, building on their specialist expertise in the defence sector.

ASC’s aim is to develop its risk management strategy to free-up the leadership team’s ability to focus on governance and compliance. It required a flexible and secure platform, adaptable to its changing needs. Predict! provides this flexibility while being an integrated risk management and analysis tool, personalised to support future business, including bids and tender support, and help manage supply chains.

Predict! is designed to deliver a quick and simple user experience for everyone involved in an organisation’s risk process. Its intuitive ease of use improves adoption, and encourages engagement with risk management at all levels. Reporting can be configured to better manage risk data, ensuring outcomes are effectively shared back to key decision makers.

Kirsty Low, risk and insurance manager, ASC, comments, “Risk Decisions has enabled a real transformation in our risk management. We’re incredibly excited to see improvements across productivity and effectiveness as a result of the improved engagement, which is enabling a far more proactive approach to risk management and ultimately enabling our leadership teams to make more informed business decisions. We’re now observing a maturing of our risk strategy.”

“Importantly for us, Predict! is used by our customers and the wider defence industry, including some of our key suppliers. This visibility and standardisation gives us a common language and supports transparency in the way we operate and support customers and stakeholders.”

Predict! features concurrent licensing, which brings benefits over and above cost effectiveness. It removes barriers to everyone having visibility of risk content across all users, as well as ‘high level users driving both risk awareness and communication. All ASC employees can access risk and opportunity management data supporting decision making

Fiona Racher, Risk Decisions’ director, adds, “Predict! is all about helping our customers take that next step towards a better, easier way to manage risk. ASC is clear about how risk can help them deliver their business objectives and we’re committed to delivering a future-proof platform that evolves with them as an organisation and a partner.”

ASC employs more than 2,500 employees across three shipyards in South Australia and Western Australia, and is set to continue as a major part of Australia’s expanding naval shipbuilding and submarine sector.
