The deal would include the AGM-114R2 Hellfire missiles as well as four M36 Hellfire Captive Air Training Missiles, ground munition and joint attack munition technical assistance, security assistance, technical assistance, spare parts, logistics, and program support.

“The proposed sale will improve Poland’s military goals of updating capability while further enhancing interoperability with the United States and other allies,” a US State Department spokesperson said.

“Poland intends to use these defence articles and services to modernise its armed forces and expand its capability to strengthen its homeland defense and deter regional threats.

“The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region.

Lockheed Martin Corporation has been selected as the principal contractor.
