Join Defence Connect and the defence sector on 13 October 2020 for the inaugural Budget Lunch. This exciting new initiative, supported by principal partner Northrop Grumman, will bring the defence industry together at a time of increased expenditure in capability building following the launch of the government’s $270 billion 2020 Defence Strategic Update, framed within the context of the annual federal budget.

The federal budget, delivered in early October, will give greater insights into spending priorities over the coming period.

The Defence Connect Budget Lunch will offer the opportunity to engage directly with the decision makers and thought leaders charged with delivering the government’s increased defence spending programs and shaping our national security infrastructure.

The lunch includes senior speakers from both sides of the aisle, offering each of them the opportunity to articulate or debate the finer points of the federal budget and contest it in live Q&A sessions.

Minister for Defence Industry, The Hon Melissa Price MP will be joined by opposition defence spokespeople:

  • Ms Meryl Swanson MP, shadow assistant minister for defence
  • Matt Keogh MP, shadow minister for defence industry

These policymakers will also be joined by senior stakeholders from the defence sector to offer insights, analysis and interpretation of the budget during the lunch, including:
