AVT Australia launches object recognition for reconnaissance

Gyro-stabilised imaging systems developer AVT Australia has released on-gimbal automated object recognition for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.

Gyro-stabilised imaging systems developer AVT Australia has released on-gimbal automated object recognition for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.

The automated object recognition assists operators by highlighting stationary and moving objects, people, vehicles, and aircraft during ISR missions using AVT’s CM62 Micro Gimbal Family.

It’s expected to speed up decision making for operators, reduce operator workload, and increase mission autonomy while also recognising up to 20 objects on screen at one time.

 
 

AVT Australia president and managing director Dale Heinken said the CM62 combines the CM62’s EO and IR high-quality imagery with automated object recognition within a IP67-rated 260g payload.

“This is about assisting operators in the quality and speed of their decision making.

“Operators can quickly discern between a multitude of tracks on a screen to find the ones that interest them.

“By making this a standard feature, all operators of a CM62 have this capability available to them with no additional hardware.”

All processing is performed 100 per cent on the gimbal with no additional hardware required, he said.
