REDARC Defence & Space pushes towards Tier 2 defence supply model

South Australia-based REDARC Defence & Space has announced renewed focus on pushing to wards a 'Tier 2' defence supplier role, with the appointment of a new general manager for sales.

It's understood defence industry veteran Craig Inns will lead the new focus, having previously served in senior business development roles across the defence and commercial sectors with companies including Collins Aerospace, Toll Group, and CHC Helicopters.

Scott Begbie, executive general manager, sales, REDARC Defence & Space, welcomed Inns to the company, saying, “This is a pivotal role within REDARC Defence & Space as we scale our business into a ‘Tier 2’ defence supplier. The recruitment process identified Craig as a highly credentialled and experienced candidate who will strengthen our team.”

Inns’ commercial experience builds on his service with the Royal Australian Air Force, following an 18-year career as an Air Combat Officer and aircraft engineer, including deployments in the Middle East. He also holds a bachelor of aeronautical technology, aeronautics from UNSW and several graduate diplomas in avionics from the School of Air Warfare.

Inns said, “I’m excited to be joining the REDARC Defence & Space division and look forward to bringing my skills and experience in defence and commercial enterprise to support the business growth.”

Inns draws on a proven set of skills including military, aviation, project management, project planning and operations management, coupled with his experience across defence domains and commercial industry, making him a highly accomplished business development and operational management professional.

“REDARC Defence & Space has built an enviable reputation as a highly respected manufacturer and partner in the Australian defence industry, and I am very proud to be joining them during a period of significant growth and opportunity,” Inns said.

Established in 1979, REDARC Electronics is an Australian, privately-owned, advanced electronics manufacturer successfully supplying patented solutions to the Australian and international heavy commercial and defence vehicle sectors. In 2019, the company launched REDARC Defence & Space, a dedicated business to meet the growing needs of the Australian defence market for wholly Australian-owned defence, medium-sized enterprises that can foster the development of intellectual property in Australia.

REDARC Defence & Space continues to offer the blend of commercial off-the-shelf, modified off-the-shelf, customised and design-to-print electronic solutions to improve the capability, safety and flexibility of a variety of defence applications.
