The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) has announced the launch of the 2020 Cyber Security Survey on 1 October – participation in the survey assists ASD to ensure Australia’s cyber security advice and services needs are met, and improve cyber resilience across the Commonwealth.

The survey must be completed by Non-Corporate Commonwealth entities (mandated by the PSPF). Corporate Commonwealth entities and Commonwealth companies are strongly encouraged to respond. Survey questions cover ASD’s Essential Eight, cyber threats and cyber security culture. The survey will be open until 30 October.
The survey is designed to be completed by an organisation’s chief information security officer (CISO), who will receive a link to the survey via ASD’s cyber.gov.au government portal.
Survey respondents will receive individual reports detailing their entity’s results in late 2020; and key findings from the aggregated data analysis will be released to Commonwealth entities in March 2021.
The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) leads the Australian government’s efforts to improve cyber security. The organisation's role is to help make Australia the safest place to connect online.
ACSC monitor cyber threats across the globe 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so government can alert Australians early on what to do.
The organisation work with business, government and academic partners and experts in Australia and overseas to investigate and develop solutions to cybersecurity threats.
ACSC have a national footprint of Joint Cyber Security Centres where we collaborate with nearly 200 business, government and academic partners on current cyber security issues. A critical component of the ACSC’s work is to also partner with law enforcement authorities to fight cyber crime.
The ASD is a vital member of Australia’s national security community, working across the full spectrum of operations required of contemporary signals intelligence and security agencies: intelligence, cyber security and offensive operations in support of the Australian government and Australian Defence Force.
