International in relevance, but with a focus on Australia and the Indo-Asia-Pacific region, CIVSEC 2018 offered key insights into the evolving national and social security sectors – and how threats will be combated in the future.

In this episode of the Defence Connect Podcast, host Phil Tarrant records from CIVSEC 2018 with a number of key industry leaders – receiving insights that are alarming in terms of emerging threats, but reassuring in how industry, and Australia, is reacting.

John Kendall, director of border and national security programs at Unisys, discusses biometrics and border security developments. His colleague Alan Seymour, business relationship manager for enterprise solutions at Unisys Australia, looks at the relationship between civil industries and Defence, and how those lines have become significantly blurred.

Michael Puckridge, VP of sales Australasia for Sintelix, shares how the Adelaide-based business is making a worldwide impact with organisations in criminal and defence industries through to businesses like Lego. Adam Neale, APAC regional sales manager from Cyber Gym, also looks at cyber attacks and the Israeli influence that they are bringing to Australia… along with their ethical hackers.
