CEO of BAE Systems Australia Glynn Phillips joins Phillip Tarrant to discuss technology and innovation in BAE Systems and the defence industry, academia and business within defence, identifying sovereign capabilities, how to meet the capabilities and challenges of the future, and creating that capability ‘edge’.
Phillips has had a distinguished 25-year career within the defence industry, beginning in 1990 as a trainee accountant with Siemens Plessey Defence Systems. Following the company’s integration with British Aerospace in 1998 and eventual merger with GEC Marconi to form BAE Systems in 2000, Glynn was appointed financial controller for the Customer Solutions and Support Group. He was later named group financial controller for BAE Systems PLC, then finance director for the Hawk aircraft and, eventually, CEO of BAE Systems Australia.
Phillips' pivotal roles across BAE Systems have given him a unique insight to the global defence industry.
