Elbit Systems of Australia has announced that highly respected business leader and academic Dr Karen Stanton has accepted a position on the company’s board.

Managing director Dan Webster said Dr Stanton would bring a wealth of expertise to Elbit Systems of Australia.
"Dr Stanton has over 15 years of experience in defence industry as an owner and director of highly successful manufacturing company HTA Group and her deep understanding of the imperatives for growth in the Australian defence industry will be invaluable."
Dr Stanton is also on the advisory board of the Centre for Defence Industry Capability, the Queensland government industry and manufacturing advisory board and is a lecturer for the MBA program at Queensland University of Technology.
"Elbit Systems of Australia is undergoing a period of growth and diversification and Dr Stanton’s commitment to best practice for small to medium enterprises (SMEs) will be important in guiding our growth and engagement in the Australian market and also potential engagement overseas," Webster said.
Dr Stanton joins Rear Admiral (Ret'd) Raydon Gates, AO, CSM and Major General (Ret'd) Roger Powell, AM as the third Australian non-executive director on the Elbit Systems of Australia board.
Dr Stanton is an owner and director of HTA Group, a specialised manufacturing business with facilities in Australia and the US. She has an extensive background of both education and industry experience.
Dr Stanton has been in the manufacturing industry all her life, being integral in promoting the transition of companies from traditional manufacturing towards the future of advanced manufacturing.
Elbit Systems is an international high technology company engaged in a wide range of defence, homeland security and commercial programs throughout the world.

Steve has an extensive career across government, defence industry and advocacy, having previously worked for cabinet ministers at both Federal and State levels.
