Australian Defence Apparel has officially opened a Canberra multi-function logistics hub to provide equipment and uniforms for Australian Federal Police and the Australian Border Force.

Australian Defence Apparel has officially opened a Canberra multi-function logistics hub to provide equipment and uniforms for Australian Federal Police and the Australian Border Force.

Australian Defence Apparel (ADA) chief executive officer Chris Dixon led the official opening of the 5,000-square metre Commonwealth hub in Hume on 13 April.

The hub has processed over 300,000 items for personnel within the AFP and ABF and provides total apparel management for more than 10,000 personnel.

 
 

Dixon said the facility provides best support for Commonwealth clients, technological advancement, and apparel for management systems, spanning defence, law enforcement, healthcare, government and corporate industries.

“The official opening of the ADA Canberra Commonwealth Hub is instrumental in delivering on our commitment to combine leading textiles and new technologies to best serve our diverse clientele,” he said.

“We trust that the ADA hub will allow ABF and AFP personnel to receive the highest quality care and service, complemented by high-tech apparel systems to allow them to perform their duties with comfort and ease and take less time away from work duties.

“We are delighted to open this state-of-the-art, multipurpose facility that includes an expansive showroom, store, warehouse facility, and office space.

“The facility provides a unique and seamless experience for fitting, kitting and distribution.”

The facility already includes design and engineering of uniforms and inventory management, it will soon accommodate tailoring, returns, and exchanges.
