Luminact launched the Taipan Concept Demonstrator Vehicle (CDV) at Land Forces 2021.
In a collaborative effort, the Taipan has been developed by multiple Luminact departments including systems engineering and architecture, mechanical engineering and design, electrical and communications/RF engineering, and platform integration.
The vehicle was designed using a commercial off the shelf Can-Am Maverick X3, which has been modified to closely align with current Defence requirements.
The Taipan CDV also demonstrates product and system agnostic integration using open architectures, and equipment from Australian companies such as Barrett 2080+ radios, and the EOS R150 remote weapon station.
In addition to the Taipan CDV, Luminact has also revealed a soldier demonstration, based on a potential implementation of the Australian Generic Soldier Architecture (AS GSA), which receives real-time data and video from the CDV. A dedicated integration laboratory and prototyping workshop gives Luminact the flexibility to build, create and demonstrate concepts, and supports the company being thought leaders in the area of integration and interoperability.
Luminact is a 100 per cent Australian owned and operated small business. Building on a core team of experts with a combined experience of over one hundred years in the industry, Luminact has grown to include locations in Canberra and Melbourne, and now provides engineering, project management, and commercial services and solutions.
