The UK deployed Elbit Systems’ battle management application during the recent NATO Coalition Warrior Interoperability Exercise, in which 28 nations conducted 10,000 interoperability tests across land, air, sea and cyber domains.
Elbit Systems UK’s TORCH-X battle management application system was successfully rolled out by the UK’s Higher Headquarters during the exercises last month, in which the UK military conducted multi-domain preparedness exercises alongside Five Eyes and NATO allies.
June's Coalition Warrior Interoperability Exercise (CWIX) in Bydgoszcz, Poland, tested participating nations to ensure that the coalition partners were utilising interoperable communications and information systems in warlike environments. Throughout the testing procedures, some 10,000 tests were conducted across numerous domains, including land, maritime air and cyber.
The UK’s 13 Signals Regiment and Land Systems Reference Centre utilised the battle management application throughout the exercise.
According to Elbit Systems UK, the command and control platform was chosen by the UK’s Ministry of Defence in 2018.
Martin Fausset, chief executive of Elbit Systems UK, welcomed the opportunity to roll out the company’s battle management application at CWIX.
“Deploying the TORCH-X based BMA in CWIX 2021 was a significant milestone for Elbit Systems UK. Having recently delivered, ahead of schedule, the 11th software drop of the BMA under the MORPHEUS programme, the CWIX 2021 exercise provided an opportunity to demonstrate the effectiveness of the TORCH-X Command and Control platform in improving performance and interoperability across domains in a Five Eyes and NATO coalition environment,” Fausset said.
The success of the TORCH-X comes as Elbit Systems Australia was down selected for the Australian government's LAND 125 Phase 4 project, in which the company was invited to participate in the limited request for tender (RFT) process.
The LAND 125 Phase 4 project is for the development and delivery of the Integrated Soldier System (ISS) for the Australian Army.
Managing director of Elbit Systems Australia Major General (Ret’d) Paul McLachlan, AO, CSC, welcomed the opportunity to submit the RFT.
“I am very pleased to announce our progress to the limited RFT stage for LAND 125 Phase 4 for the ISS, which is indicative of our continued commitment to produce world-leading soldier systems from global technology using an upskilled sovereign workforce here in Australia,” McLachlan said.
