Israeli-based fire control systems manufacturer Smart Shooter has this week unveiled its new armed drone system, which the company boasts can be fitted with a range of small arms and has been integrated with the company’s SMASH Technology to undertake enhanced target selection.

According to the company, SMASH Technology utilises Smart Shooter’s proprietary target acquisition and tracking algorithms, coupled with computer vision, to undertake sophisticated target selection.

The lightweight drone is also integrated with stabilisation capabilities that enable the drone to accurately fire while moving.

"Smart Shooter's SMASH technology offers precise elimination of threats at ground, air and sea. We are now happy to offer the same precise, combat-proven target engagement technology mounted on an unmanned aerial platform that can be controlled from a distance,” Michal Mor, chief executive of Smart Shooter, said.

“When it comes to drones, platform weight is a critical factor as it impacts mission endurance and cost, and we are proud to announce that the extremely lightweight SMASH Dragon meets this criterion.”
