Pivot Maritime International deploys portable bridge simulation system

The Tasmanian company has confirmed that their Container Simulation System (ContainerSim) will be deployed across Australia to support the training of sailors in Royal Australian Navy.

The Tasmanian company has confirmed that their Container Simulation System (ContainerSim) will be deployed across Australia to support the training of sailors in Royal Australian Navy.

The employment of the simulation system within the RAN was confirmed by Commodore Charles Huxtable, with the ContainerSim destined for use across Australia to support mariner skills training.

The confirmation follows a 12-month testing regime with simulations conducted across HMAS Canberra, HMAS Choules and HMAS Sirius.

It is expected that the initial capability rollout will provide “full-mission, high-fidelity and immersive bridge simulator” training for the Arafura class Offshore Patrol Vessel.

The company has confirmed that it has also received interest from the Australian Army as well as the US Navy and New Zealand Navy.

Currently, Pivot delivers simulation systems for defence, maritime ancillary services providers, maritime training institutions, ports, regulators and commercial shipowners.
