XTEK lands new multimillion-dollar US contract

The ASX-listed company has received a new order for its protective equipment from a US government agency.

The ASX-listed company has received a new order for its protective equipment from a US government agency.

XTEK Limited subsidiary HighCom Armor Solutions has secured a new $3.5 million (US$2.38 million) order for more than 20,000 individual units of specialist ballistic protection equipment from an undisclosed US federal government agency.

HighCom’s products, billed as “ultra-lightweight” and “high-performance”, are manufactured with the support of the patented XTclave capability in Adelaide, South Australia.

In 2019, XTEK acquired HighCom in a bid to enhance its focus on proprietary products, accelerating XTclave commercialisation through ballistic protection products.

HighCom also provides XTEK with access to an expanded distribution network in the United States.

Scott Basham, XTEK Group CEO, welcomed this latest order to support key US agencies.

“HighCom Armor is a trusted provider of high performance, life-saving, ballistic personal protection equipment to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and military customers across the United States and around the world,” Basham said.

This follows HighCom’s delivery of the final tranche of a US$33.2 million order, which included over 120,000 items, weighing a total 278.8 tonnes.

“Our ability to supply these large orders for our advanced ballistic protection products from our Ohio facility in quick time into the US federal and state law enforcement sector, is exactly what gives our domestic US and international customers such confidence in our HighCom brand,” Basham said.
